Mother’s Day—Holding Space for Every Heart
A love note for anyone carrying grief this holiday
I’m compelled to share a message of love for those us with a complicated, difficult or painful relationship with this holiday.
To those of us grieving losses: pregnancy loss, baby loss, child loss, parent loss — it is never ever going to be ok that we lost our person. We honor those we have lost through our love every day
To those of us grieving absent mothers or mothers who couldn’t give us what we needed — we are whole and worthy of love
To those of us holding any other shape of grief today and all days — we are doing our best and that’s enough
I see you. I grieve with you. We walk together. We can be many things at once. Full of deepest sorrow and unimaginable strength. Full of suffocating pain and boundless joy 💜
